Yeah.

Well, I had my usual conversation with Kaiser Member Services (about their psych department cancelling my appointments every month since last May....they're restructuring their whole psych clinic and it is appalling., how neglectful they are of patients)...some kind woman in member Services actually got a p-doc to call me & schedule an appointment for Friday. I have my fingers crossed that they won't cancel on me, since the doc herself scheduled the appointment. I desperately want to discuss the trileptal w/ her...I just don't want to give up on the stuff if I can avoid it.

Well, I finally saw a p-doc and she was outstanding. She believes I have some neurological prob going on, perhaps a seizure disorder (I've been told that before in my life). I had a CT scan (brain) and have an appointment w/ a neurologist on Tuesday. Thankfully, the CT scan was normal. I will see the neurol. (who will prob do an EEG) & hopefully he'll offer some medication that helps. The p-doc, who was extremely thorough, does not believe that bipolar is not the correct diagnosis for me and that's why the mood stabilizers aren't helping. It all makes sense to me.

How's the trileptal working for you, H?

Im doing good! Im up to 750mg a day. In two more days (if things go well) I will be up to the 900mg. Im not as tired as I was but still am a little. My mood is still really good!

I hope the tests and neuro. can help give some insight to what is going on with you!!

I was taking it for a seizure disorder, not bipolar disorder, but I'm pretty sure the dosages are similar. I was up to 2400 mg a day. So I think 900 mg is a reasonable dose. I was really tired on it as well at first, but I did acclimate to it after a couple weeks.
Thanks for this!
