I notice if im more consistent with my med, i don't think about not wanting to live as much- maybe a slight reduction in depression/anxiety could be the reason. However, i dont feel comfortable with the whole idea as if im on life support or what have you.. but i havent found therapy or diet as helpful. (was going to post this in depression section at first..)

Hello InfiniteSaddness, I have noticed my meds make me not want to die although I may have lingering sadness and depression, I feel as though I can handle it. I'm glad you are noticing a difference with consistence use of your meds. Even missing a single dose can send some into a downward spiral that may take a few days to get over. Be well!!!

Could also be that your med reduces that replaying in your mind?

It's hard living when there's so much focus on dying.

The life support decision isn't a light one. As is organ donation. Wills and testaments.

Life is too short, to worry about when. Besides can increase depression since when can be decades away.

No, i was speaking figuratively, as the med is almost like my "life support"

I think there is huge step from not wanting to die and wanting to live. Just because you don't wanna kill yourself doesn't mean you "want to live" if you are just sorta existing and feeling everything is pointless.

For me everything is pointless is very existential thing and it can be counter is more existential. Maybe there is some people who take a pill and all of sudden don't question everythiug and use their intelligence against themselves......... but for me, I cannot imagine how it would work. I have herbals that help me with the suicidal thoughts and give me energy. Rest is up to me.

If you wanna view meds as "life support" that is your choice and it's okay. If somebody wants to view them differently, that's their choice and is okay too. Whatever works, as long as it works, right?
