It seems like everytime I get put on SSRI's, I end up with muscle fatigue and shortness of breath. I have alot of health issues, including asthma, fibromyalgia and arthritis. IDK if the SSRIs are having a negative impact on the meds I take for my physical health issues or if these are side effects from the Zoloft itself. My PDoc wants me to try to stay on this b/c I am severely depressed. I also take Welbutrin, Lamictal and low dose Seroquel but have for years. This has happened with other SSRIs, too. I'm also having problems with tremors, muscle twitching, dry nose, teeth grinding and increased tinnitus. The headache seems to have stopped.

While I feel less overwhelmed by the stuff that I need to get done, I'm having trouble doing things b/c of the pain and dyspnea. It feels like that story, The Gift of the Magi.

I started the Zoloft back in November, but after I started having side effects, I cut it back to 1/4 of a tablet, slowly increasing to one tab a couple of weeks ago.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I have never had that happen. Have you looked at the side effects of those meds causing this? If you don't see it on the list of side effects you may have an allergy?
Thanks for this!

Thanks ChaoticInsanity. I'm going to check that out.... IDK if I've ever checked the actual official list. I meant to ask the pharmacist today, but totally spaced.

One thing I forgot in my original post is that my peak flows (at home breathing test) aren't bad. Probably less than 10% drop.

I cannot find anything about SSRIs and muscle fatigue. If anything, upon searching, came accross an article about fibromyalgia and CFS, that discusses serotonin deficiency and fatigue. Not that, that helps explain your fatigue.
Shortness of breath sounds like a call your doctor, ASAP situation.

Thanks Healing. After grocery shopping yesterday, my muscles were shot. I ended up sleeping pretty much the whole day and it's too late to call PDoc. I'm going to cut back on the Zoloft tonight and see if that helps.

I did what ChaoticInsanity suggested and looked at the side effects. Found out that I've actually been having more than i thought. Things I've talked to T and PDoc about but never connected to my meds.

If you just recently increased to 100mg, it takes a while to adjust. I'd definitely tell the Dr and check about interactions, but just like any new med it can have side effects when starting.

I've been on Celexa and currently on Lexapro and I've never experienced the issues you've mentioned

Current Daily Meds:
3mg Klonopin
300mg Wellbutrin
10mg Lexapro
200mg Seroquel
Thanks for this!
