Hello detour1: The Skeezyks was on Cymbalta (& subsequently its generic equivalent) for... oh... maybe a couple of years? (Memory fails me...) I was on the maximum recommended dosage. It was by far-&-away the best antidepressant, for me, I ever took. I went off of it when I changed health insurance plans & the out-of-pocket cost skyrocketed.

I had taken other AD's previously for shorter periods of time & always took myself off of them when they didn't seem to do any good. When I decided to go off of Cymbalta, however, I decided to seek my pdoc's guidance. I thought he would recommend some long drawn out tapering. However, he gave me a schedule that took me off of the med. completely over the course of 2 weeks! I thought this might prove to be problematic. However I went with it, & it was fine. As I recall I experienced a bit of nervousness for a while. But nothing of any great consequence. I'm no longer on med's at all.
