I've been on Lexapro for about a month, or so.
started on 5mg, then after a week or two it was upped to 10. it worked for a while, and i didn't feel very depressed, and had little anxiety. recently, i've been feeling more and more anxiety ,though, and ive been alot more depressed. do you think they'll up my medication? or will they give me more time to get used to the dose i'm on?

Hinako - As fayerody said, talk to your doc; a dose increase is not unreasonable, and often results in an increase in efficacy (effectiveness).

Definitely talk to your doctor.
In my psychopharmacology class, we learned that a lot of times SSRI's have the unfortunate effect of working for awhile, and then just stopping. I have seen this happen in regards to Lexapro with a couple of people. But of course there are a million factors that might play into why you are feeling more depressed and anxious. Perhaps a dose increase is what you need-- talk to your doctor. |
