babs92 - Lamictal™ (lamotrigine) is a very good choice for many with bipolar II, but everyone is different and it is almost impossible to know what will work. There is no way of telling if something will work or not until you have tried it and given it a chance to take effect. One usually needs to take a med for a month or two before giving up on it; it takes time for your body to adjust to the drug, and for it's full effect to be realized.

Try 40mg of Celexa or whatever dosage your doctor thinks is best for you. Awesome for anxiety!

Have you been on your meds for long? Maybe they'll work on the anxiety if given enough time.
I'm being treated for panic disorder, GAD and depression. I take 10mg Lexapro each day and 0.5mg Clonazepam (as needed -- usually a couple of times a week). They both work well on my anxiety -- no more panic attacks!

I tried 150, then 300mg of Wellbutrin, and that seems to be good as a general mood stabilizer, so if your anxiety isn't too terrible you might want to try that. Side effects are generally quite mild to nonexistant, too.

Wellbutrin made me terribly, terribly depressed and slightly paranoid. I spent a little over a month on it and I ended up in the worst mental state I had ever experienced. I had never been that depressed before and it was the first and only time I experienced paranoia. I seem to be the only one who has had that reaction.

Whoa, I'm so sorry!! I've heard of one or two more people who've had that reaction, just from my internet reserch, but it does seem very rare.

Thanks Muse. I actually didn't realize that the Wellbutrin was making me feel that way. I was too messed up to think rationally. It was my doctor who told me it was the Wellbutrin making me feel that way and she had me stop taking it... and within a few days the black cloud started to lift.

Wellburtin sent my ED into orbit.... it also made me feel like a zombie... yet I still had an extreme amount of anxiety underneath.....
