My pdoc prescribed me latuda last week. He said it will help me with impulsivity and paranoia. Has anyone taken it and it help with those specific symptoms? Also, did anyone have some dizziness right after taking it?

Im taking 20mg this week, then two weeks of 40mg then up to 60mg. What dose do you all take?

I'm taking 40mg. Started out at that, and will only go up if need be, but pdoc says research doesn't show better performance at higher doses.

Gotcha. I was on it a few years ago at 20mg for just a few weeks. Then, it was prescribed while I was depressed..not for this stuff. I was surprised he wanted to up me like that but I trust him. Zyprexa was helping me a lot but the weight gain side effect was not ok with me. So, I told him I was willing to take Latuda again (it simply didn't help at the lowest dose) if he thought it would help. Right now he has me taking both while Im going up on Latuda. Then, we will drop Zyprexa.

I was on 80mgs of latuda. It helped with the paranoia but I got horrible akathisia on it. I'm looking to go off zyprexa too. I might try latuda again but at only 40mgs. The akathisia was just too horrible at 80mgs.

But I think it works well for paranoia...

My latuda akathesia took 6 weeks to go away at first. Taking it after dinner w a big full belly is key.

Yea the Dr said to take it around 9pm with a 300 calorie snack. But Ive taken it a little earlier if Im eating a late dinner! Ive only been on it 5 days but so far no bad side effects. I haven't gotten the dizziness since day 3.

I'm on 60 and it's worked really great for the head noise and mixed symptoms. I was on 40 for about 6-8 months when I had mixed symptoms my doc uped the dose to 60 about 2 months ago, took care of the symptoms and still no side effects. No extra meds added, no increase in other meds! If I stay stable for a year I'll see about going down or off though.
