I just started taking Latuda (40mg) last Friday, and I have a few side effects that I'm wondering if they'll go away or not.

1) I get nauseous, even when I take it with the 350 calories, and it often lasts awhile.
2) My appetite has gone from enormous to none (maybe because I'm not on Zyprexa anymore?)
3) This may just be because I'm depressed right now, but being extra tired during the day.

Anyone have experience with Latuda and these side effects? Anything to offer?

I believe the nauseousness subsides after your body adapts to the medication. I was on Latuda for a while, my doctor told me that and it turned out to be true in my case. It only took about a week to fully subside, stinks that you are still having trouble. I don't recall having any appetite changes.

Latuda made me feel very restless, "ants in the pants." It wasn't that bad at the lower dose, but as soon as I upped it the first time it became extremely uncomfortable.

Those are all really common. They should subside within a week or two. I hope you adjust soon.

You might talk to your doctor about taking it with dinner. That help with the tiredness I was experiencing.

I'd be out like a light right after dinner if I did that -- it hits me fast! I'm generally asleep within about 20 minutes of taking it.

Like I said, I'm not sure if the tiredness is actually from the Latuda itself or from my depression -- it could be either, or both. Hopefully it goes away soon though.

I believe antipsychotics are notorious for being sedating - the same thing happened to me when I was on Seroquel. I don't know if Latuda has a reputation for being sedating but it's very well possible that it's causing it.

I was sick if I did not eat more than 500 calories when I was on Latuda. You might need to eat more. Try it with protein.

I liked Latuda, but I got real agitated and couldn't sit still at a higher dose. Had to stop.

Things are subsiding.

The nausea, and probably appetite decrease definitely was increased by my anxiety (I ate normally for the first time today in weeks because the thing that was making me super anxious is now done and over with), and I only napped for about an hour today which means the tiredness might be going away too.

My roommate used to take Latuda and last night when I was so nauseous and anxious and not hungry I didn't even want my favorite snack ever suggested I eat a yogurt and it would be enough, and it was! I didn't get sick or anything...so there's a suggestion for people
Thanks for this!

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Things might sway from day to day, but usually it balances out the longer you've been on it. The symptoms might come back briefly when you increase the dose, but they usually subside again.
