So I've been off antidepressants for a few months. I took 300 mg Buproprion (Welbutrin) for several years. I really didn't notice that it helped much, my MD just kept upping the dose (I don't have a Pdoc, I have an MD and a psychologist).

Today she started me on Zoloft. It's one drug I've never taken. I would love to hear good/bad experiences from those on this med. Generally I am very nervous about antidepressants because Prozac, about 20 years ago, sent me in the complete opposite direction and I ended up ODing on it and having my stomach pumped. I was not seeing a T at the time, so I at least feel more comfortable having a T on board (regularly, twice per week), to help "spot me" while I start the Zoloft.

I would love to hear what people have to say! (My first time on this board, hi all!)

Thanks! I never saw the reviews section before! I'm starting low...will try to be optimistic... but all those reviews saying headache and insomnia make me reluctant...as I already deal with both on a daily basis...NON medicated!

Years ago I was on Zoloft for a long time. It worked for me back then. Nowadays I've found it way too energizing...causes severe anxiety. Overall, though, I'd say that Zoloft is a helpful medication.

Zoloft saved my life when I had MDD in 1998.
