This is probably one of those SUPER stupid questions... but everyone's gotta find out somewhere, sometime... right?
Why do you start out only taking a half a tablet for a week, then progress to taking whole tablets for the rest of your life (or until you stop taking the med)? I mean what would happen if you just took the whole thing from the beginning?

I think it is to error on the side of caution should any side effects develop it would be best if caught before a large does is given. Since most drugs effect everyone differently.
