I could not stand the fatigue and disinterest any longer. At first, I thought it worked beautifully on my anxiety, but it goes too far, even at the lowest dose. I feel disappointed, and anxious. But I have energy and I give a damm and that's important, too.

Neither Lexapro nor Celexa did anything for me. Hope you find something that works.
Thanks for this!

It's possible that your dose was too high. Sounds cliche, but I'm very serious.

I hope whatever you try next works better for you. I'm on the max dose and haven't had any concerning side effects, but it works differently for everyone.

I used to be just fine on the clinical dose (sometimes higher dose) of ssri's. Since hitting my 50's I cannot tolerate even the clinical dose. I become severely anxious...have to keep my Lexapro dose quite low to get the anti-depressant/mood stabilizing effects without triggering anxiety.

Same here. I'm tapering down my dosage and actually feel much better since doing so. Still constantly on edge, but I seem to be dealing with it better than I used to.

I recently changed my dose from 10 to 20 and I've been on edge as well. I plan to give it another couple weeks to work. Luckily I have Klonopin to take the edge off. My hope is that the Lexapro will work well and reduce my Klonopin in take. Good luck to everyone

I used to be okay on 15mg, even 10mg as well, but nowadays my body cannot tolerate lexapro and i got side effects like you mentioned. I thought it's one of the best SSRIs out there, but to know that it doesn't work out is quite dispiriting, now I'm back on 15mg mirtazapine, it's all fine again, not that it improves my anxiety though

I started at 10mg, reduced it to 5mg. Both made me too lethargic, so I went off of it after a few months. Amazingly, and I credit my psychotherapy in conjunction, the reduced anxiety has remained and I feel the best anxiety-wise that I have since 2003 when I quit smoking and my anxiety skyrocketed horribly. I was already anxious, and that made it unbearable. I'm still a non-smoker though !
