Would anyone recommend Carbamazepine for me? My mother says no way jose, but I wanted to know what experience people have had. Like my signature says, I am currently on Lithium. I'm also 13, so...

depends why you need it, as it can be used for epletic fits,or as in my daughters case a mood stabilizer i had heard of it way before my daughter started on it, but only with epeltic fits when they told me it can be used to help stablize daughters mood swings i said we would give it ago, she is now on tegretol retard which is a slow release form, she has regular check ups and blood tests to check everything is ok

I am with Katheryn here.... it depends on what you need it for - my daughter took it for 10 years for her seizures.

I have been on tegretol as a mood stabilizer for about 8 months now and I love it . I started on Equetro but the cost was hard for me with no insurance to help pay for the medication . My PDoc switched me to the generic tegretol (carbamazepine) which is a $4 walmart script. The only side affect I had was dizziness for a few days until the medication was in my system . I also try to take it with food , this helps keep the side effects down. It does a great job keeping my moods stable and doesnt cost me an arm and a leg . Good luck to you , hope this med works for you .
