how fast did you taper?
did you have any side effects from withdrawing?

im really wanting to get off this med but am scared about withdrawal... i've been on it for a while

I dropped it cold turkey years ago, I never had a problem but I don't think its wise to do so..

When I have ever wondered about tapering off a medication I call my Pharmacy ,, They know drugs !

* disclaimer* of course talk to your pdoc before you stop any medications.

Its got a fairly long half life, which tends to mean withdrawal symptoms are less likely to occur. You'd probably be fine stopping cold turkey, but tapering, even reasonably quickly theoretically shouldn't cause any symptoms. Good luck.
