Im an anxiety sufferer and my boyfriend has BPD.

He's been taking 60mg Fluoxetine for the past 5-6 years and has recently stopped taking them. Though he seems fine 3 weeks later, I am worried that he will end up crashing. He no longer wanted the side effects. Eg: Low sex drive, night sweats, general zombie like feeling.

Since he stopped 3 weeks ago -

*No more night sweats!
*Claimed to feel more 'human' with more emotion.
*Sex drive peaked for 5 days...then has been absent again since. (Any ideas?)

Ive been taking 20mg Citalopram for Anxiety and would like to stop taking them for the same reasons. Even on the low dose I have a few sexual problems and trouble sleeping.

We are from the Uk. Any names of other meds that doesnt have the libido lowering side effect?

Most every med has side effects of some sort. Doesn't his doctor have another med available for him, after his tampering off the other med?

It is odd that the one area of complaint peaked for five days then stopped again even after meds. What does his doctor say?
