I have been sedated twice before, and every time I hallucinate. Both times it was with Versed (Midazolam). Will this be a good indication of how benzos will effect me? I was prescribed Xanax as needed but I am too scared to take it for that reason and withdrawal. I read online you can go into withdrawal after one dose? I was also reading online that sometimes people take more than they meant to because they black out and end up taking a bunch? Does anyone have any experience with this?
My mother was prescribed Xanax at one time, but she threw them out because it just made her sleep. She was on 1mg, which I think is A LOT. I only have .5mg pills I might split into 2? My doctor said it was ok if I did, so I don't know. Oh. And the hallucinations are hearing voices. It doesn't sound like people talking around me, it sounds like they are talking into my ear. It's always people I just saw before I am sedated, but they are saying horrible things about me. |

Hi, you could try .25 mg of the Xanax and see? That's a low dose so it should be OK. I would try it.

1mg isn't a lot but it's not the smallest dose.

Versed is used to induce medical comas in intensive care, I had it twice in the past year for a kidney biopsy and a cystoscopy along with fentanyl and I tripped balls for a few minutes, so don't take it as a indicator for all benzos, I am currently going through benzo weening right now from ativan and I tell you it really blows, I rather be coming off heroin and whatever the worst drug is at the same time lol. Xanax has the shortest half life, so the withdrawl will be worse than mine from the ativan. Xanax has about a 4-6 hour half life depending on metabolism, ativan is about 10, klonopin is about 30, valium is the longest at around 60-100 i believe. forgive my spelling.

Also, not trying to scare you, but I think my will power is pretty good, and I have done pretty much every psychotropic drug except crack, heroin, lsd, e.t.c. but i was prescribed xanax for about 9 months at 8 mg a day, the highest dose and I became straight up addicted and blacked out on the stuff on a daily basis, the withdrawl seizures were horrible I would run out before my refills every month towards the end. The only drug I have ever been truly addicted too. I think If you stay at .5 or 1 mg you should be ok but don't think you need more. The DEA is going to schedule II it in about a year.
