Hello guys

I take St. John's Wort for my MDD, and it's working well knowing how focused/powerful it is (4000mg). I think that's why it's effective, but for those who take St. Jon's Wort, have are you experienced hair loss? Because it's happening to me, and I see quite a lot of my hair falling off after I brush it.

I've had hair loss from Cymbalta but have never taken St. John's Wort. But they both partly act on serotonin (I think--not sure about the SJW), so it's not surprising they'd have similar side effects.
Thanks for this!

Thank you so much for the answer

And yes, St. John's Wort also acts on serotonin, so is that the factor or the cause behind hair loss? Is it always because of boosting that chemical? I should Google that!

Thanks again

Hair loss can also be caused by low iron levels in your blood. That's what happened to me. See your Dr., and ask to have your Ferritin levels checked.

Thank you so much for the reply, Splitimage

I'll definitely discuss this with my doctor, because I can see a lot of my hair falling after a single brush, and this is stressful to me, not much, but it is giving me negative feelings.

Hair loss can also be caused by low vitamin D, which is oddly common. A blood test would tell you a lot.
