I am considering trying Vivance. I have taken Adderall for years but am not currently taking it. My ADHD is through the roof!

Can those of you currently prescribed Vivance or previously prescribed please tell me your experiences? Particularly if you have tried both Vivance and Adderall, can you state some of the differences between the two?

Thanks!

Sorry, I'm a grammar nazi. It's Vyvanse.

I have a friend who was on Vyvanse for a month, but she didn't like the dulled personality and having no appetite. She has been on adderrall, and she didn't like that it was really bumpy.

Sorry I have no personal experience

Yeah, I'm usually a grammar nazi as well but I don't count medication names as they aren't real words so it's hard to remember how to spell them...anyway sorry I didn't bother to look up how to spell it.

And also, thanks for the info!

I dont take vyvanse but my 17 year old brother does. He loves it. He has severe ADHD. It was a miracle drug for him. It helped his focus so much. He went from failing school with all Fs(his entire life in school) to becoming a top honor student and getting a free college scholarship. Thats how much it helped his focus.
He did completely loose his appetite. He was boarding on the edge of chunky, then he started vyvanse and lost so much weight he is skeletal now.
He does have heart palpitations as well from it.

Another thing, it helps get him up in the morning for school. This is a kid who missed school almost everyday because he couldnt wake up.. It gives him a burst of energy!

Hope this helps

The only experience that I can relate is that my 7 yo granddaughter takes Vyvanse. It's all she has ever been on.

It works wonderfully for her except she has no appetite whatsoever. She has to take another med to increase her appetite.....but she is only 7....not sure how that would translate to the adult world..
