Hi,

I've been started on Fluoxetine for depression, however I'm having multiple side effects. Took the tablet...2 hours later, vomited, have a constant underlying feeling of nausea, insomnia, dizziness and headaches.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced these side effects with Fluoxetine? What you did? Just after advice...should I wait and see if they improve or should I go back to my GP?

Thanks

I enjoy Prozac. What is your dosage and when are you taking it? How long have you been on it?

I think it's good for me. Helps with depression and anxiety. It did take about 6 weeks to really start to work.

Good luck and keep sharing!

Hi Moogieotter,

20mg, take it in the morning. Been on it for 3 days...the first 2 days where horrendous. But today the vomiting has stopped and the headaches are much better. Maybe it'll just take time like you said.

Thanks again!

Just hang in there. Please take it with food, limit your caffeine intake and no alcohol at all.

Good luck!

I know I am late, but my Dr had me ramp up to 20mg. Four quarter pills, then half pills for around a week, finally ramping up to the full pill.

20mg from the start? Wow.

Prozac was the first drug that really worked for me. I stopped taking it a couple times because I was a heavy drinker and had to deal with the addiction first. Now that I've had some time sober, I'm thinking of going back on it because the last drugs like Luvox and wellbutrin I was prescribed didn't help.
The first few days you get nausea but it goes away and it was the best for me.
