Last week I started Latuda and so far so good but just this am I had to add trintellix to the mix. If it works i will titrate off wellbutrin.

My question/issues are one every med im already on contradicts with trintellix so why would pdoc add it? Two the literature says may cause mania. Im bipolar why would he rx a med that has mania as a side effect when im bipolar?

Im starting to think hes trying to induce mania just to see how bad i get. Hes new and not seen me manic yet. Paranoia has started to set and i want to stick my fingers down my throat and get this new med out of me. Fml

wellbutrin is just as likely to make someone manic as brintellix. Latuda can stabilize the mood and brintellix works on the depression. All antidepressants have the potential to induce mania. If you're concerned why not talk to him and ask his rationale? Or request a single med that works on both ends of the bipolar spectrum? There aren't many but there are a couple that can

Ive been on Wellbutrin for years which is why we are switching. I take lithium as well. Im sure he has his reasons and we did discuss his intentions I just happened to read the literature last night and woke up panicked. I do intend to talk more to him and have a call in to him. My appointment is in 2 weeks so we see how all the changes effect me. So far Im really tired so back to bed I go. Im really sensitive to meds so looks like trintellix is going to be a night med too.

I have read that Brintellix is not good as an add-on med since it does so much. As AncientMelody said, Wellbutrin can induce mania also. I imagine that the combination of Brintellix and Wellbutrin is making you feel very uncomfortable indeed!

I personally think that you would have a higher chance of being manic on bupropion, as it is practically the most activating anti-depressant. I hope that vortioxetine works out for you, and that you can find a med combo that makes you comfortable.

Had a few hypo episodes on wellbutrin. I havent start titration off wellbutrin yet so im on both wellbutrin and trintellix. All i feel is nauseated and sleepy. Which sucks as the brief time i was on latuda and wellbutrin i was feeling good. Hope that comes back when no longer on wellbutrin. I mean the Latuda, trintellix, lithium combo works. Ugh my mind is mush.

Shaw I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope your new trio combo works too, and that you can start to titrate off the wellbutrin soon.
