I'm so sorry to hear you're sick...and on the weekend!
It sounds like the medication is not agreeing with you, but I have no exp with those specific medications.
Hope others here will have better insights!
Thinking of you!

What are you taking the trazadone for - depression or sleep?

I was put on 350 mg of trazadone in the a.m. about 17 years ago and it was terrible! I had to sit in a chair until the room stopped spinning. My current med person was shocked the psych put be on this in the morning as an antidepressent.

I now take 2 - 50 mg tablets at bed time for sleep and I don't have any problems.

I'd definitely call doc on Monday morning.

sleep.......the Pdoc said it was a lousy AD.......

i've thought about it and i didn't eat much before i took the meds.....that could be part of it and i've been very, very stressed this week about my job and lack of benefits. thinking of changing and going "corporate"......

my system just seems off key....

and i probably should haven't broken the tab in 1/2..even though he told me to take two.

i'll call him Monday. thanks.

decreased the trazadone last night and got so sick that i probably lost 5 pounds.........this really sucks. but not sleeping really causes my depression to worsen. i'm trying to stick this out.

Gosh Faye I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with this med! Had you just started it? Could it be something other than the trazadone?

i just started it this week. i've taken lamictal before and didn't have any side effects at all from it.

i definitely believe it's the trazadone. i've had e.mails from others who experienced the same thing......i'm just trying to hang in.......

i'm going to eat now and see if that helps the grogginess. it may cause the upset stomach, but i'm hungry and not eating really won't help me now...........

I had a bad reaction to Trazodone, too--nausea and terrible sinus headaches.

Have you ever tried Seroquel for sleep? A tiny dose (25-50 mg) might knock you out without the stomach-turning side-effects. Just a thought.

I've been on trazadone for periods of time - months at a time... for sleeping... but I can't take it without taking ambien too or it makes me sick from the time I take it till the time I actually fall asleep (about an hour without the ambien)..

the trazadone makes the room spin and I get dizzy and sick. to my tummy.. the ambien with the trazadone puts me right out...but I get more intense dreams...

I hope you feel better soon....

the Pdoc that i was seeing didn't give me time to know if it worked for me, as she was intent on changing stuff constantly. i was probably on it about 6 weeks.

Glad you are feeling better Fayerody. I am just on week 6 now or just starting week 7. Wonder if he/she saw something they did not like. Did you have any difficulty sleeping. Hope you do not mind me asking. :-)

the new Pdoc put me on trazadone for sleep and it was what made me so sick. the lamictal doesn't bother me. the first Pdoc was an airhead and could never remember anything about what she was prescribing. sorry, Pdocs, some of you are airheads. anyone? so, i waited until i found one that i trusted and we're trying it again. he is very optimistic that the lamictal will help me.

he's also optimistic that the trazadone will eventually quit making me sick.

i actually went into Austin today. boy, that was big. whew. couldn't wait to get back home........too much noise and too many people. anyone?

Wow, I take Trazodone & klonopin to sleep--plus the meds provider said the Trazodone was an old-time AD that caused people to be too sleepy so that the AD effects & the sleepiness would be good for me. Though last night I had real trouble sleeping. Basically stayed up knitting since I couldn't get tired enough to sleep--even with meds. I never has any of the side effects you are describing (but I did have the dizziness & incredible fatigue on Geodon). Been on Lamictal about 5 yrs. but got dose increased last Aug. to 300 mg.

Also, Abilify, Concerta, Provigil...maybe more..have to look at my list. I use one of those pill organizers & once a week load up all my meds & then don't think about them. I just pop the morning ones in my mouth, noon same & evening.--Suzy

my back hurts so much that you would think i've been out digging holes. my poor ole immune system must really be getting whipped.....

if you'll all hold hands and sing "Kum By Yi" ( i have NO idea how to spell it) and get me through my photography show opening tomorrow night, i'll be forever grateful..........

I took trazodone, fayerody, at one point when I was also taking prozac because I had some trouble sleeping with the prozac. The pdoc prescribed it because it is a very sedating antidepressant if I recall correctly. For me this was definitely true--I had to be in bed or lying down about 20 minutes after I took the trazodone or I very likely would have fallen down.

Sometimes if I took it very late at night, I think, and as a consequence the next morning I would feel very nauseated. So I made sure I either took it only when I would know I would have at least 8 hours to sleep so I wouldn't have the nausea problems.

Sometime after I went off it, a warning was issued about taking trazodone and prozac together because (again I am not sure if I recall this exactly correctly) some patients were experienceing heartbeat irregularities with the combination of the two.

Hope you get or got your problems worked out.
