For someone who presented with depression, later found to be bipolar 2... is ativan a good choice?

I haven't started my Lamictal because I'm still breastfeeding. However, today was the first day that I needed to take an ativan. I was needing to move, had to move, could NOT sit still, not for one second, or it drove me crazy.

Yet, here I stand now, content with out moving my feet, and I can even stop typing and I don't have the urge to move.

However I've read that it's a depressant? That can't be a good idea!!!

i take xanax. never taken ativan. i hope that all goes well with you and the meds. medicine is a two=edged sword....or like a box of chocolates, we never know what're we going to get........xoxoxo pat

Ativan (Lorazepam) is usually for anxiety, it is very helpful but should only be used for short courses as it can be addictive.
