Now i have constant diagnosis changes and constant med changes and it sucks i have an appointment in two weeks and my doctor will add a new med and possibly diagnose me with something new good thing there are only so many huhDiagnosis changed again

Sorry they keep changing your diagnosis. All that really matters is that you find a med or meds that work to keep you stable, don't worry about the diagnosis. It seems like they change the criteria all the time anyway.

Schizoaffective disorder is disorder with hallucinations or delusions and a mood disorder such as depression or mania symptoms consistent with bipolar disorder. It has a lot of overlap with a psychotic depression and the two can be easily confused.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.

If you are hearing voices outside of manic/depressive episodes that's the reason they diagnosed you with Schizoaffective. That's what I have it, please don't add to the stigma. They're both mental illnesses, schizophrenia and schizoaffective, don't let the "Schizo" part scare you

I think passion is genuinely distressed and frustrated, doesn't mean she's "adding to the stigma". Not wanting something isn't stigmatizing it

Saying you're "cool" with psychotic depression but schizophrenia spectrum no" is putting it into some weird category like we're freaks or something because of the name having Schizo in it. I don't think that's what the person intended and maybe I'm just reading too much into it but that's how I feel.

Back to the topic, like I said, if you're hearing voices even when you're not in a manic or depressed episode, well that's a big part of the criteria for Schizoaffective.
