I need some opinions. I have bi-polar II for quite some time. In the last few years however I have been experiencing a lot of fatigue. I have gone to a general Md. to rule out any other health problems and was given a clean bill of health.

I am on the following medications, Lamictal 300 mg, Abilify 4mg, Short Acting Adderall 10mg 3x a day and 450 mg Wellbutrin.

My questions to whomever is this..

Has anyone experienced fatigue with any or a combination of these drugs? If so which one(s)?

Did you do something that helped alleviate the fatigue?

I saw my psych three days ago and he told me to try taking the Lamictal and Abilify at night to see if that helped. I did and now for the last two days I have been a complete wreck. In any of your opinions could just switching from taking the medications in the morning to nighttime cause this?

Also, has anyone here had any experience with provigil or the generic (modanifil)? My psych said this may be an option if we can't get down to the cause of the fatigue.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I had fatigue on Abilify. I ended up taking it before bed (even though I believe it is supposed to be taken in the mornings). Taking it at night allowed me to sleep off the worst of the fatigue.

Adderall shouldn't be making you tired. I don't know about Wellbutrin but I don't think it has a sedating effect. And I'm not sure about Lamictal - I haven't had any fatigue on it. But it might be a side effect.

I took Provigil and it seemed to help. Welcome to Psych Central!

I took both provigil and nuvigil when I was working. Both really helped me with sedation and my body's tendency to mix up day and night. I did have to keep a benzo on me since every so often it would make me start to go up. The benzo stopped that. I think that was only Provigil.

Wow, once I was put on Wellbutrin that helped. But I was originally put on the XL version and that kept me up at night. Once I was on the SR version that helped.
