So ive had good moods from lamictal (200mg), and low dose of Seroqual (25mg) helps me sleep well.
However anxiety has been really disabling for me. So pdoc prex Lexapro, 10mg generic and said to get EKG due to 'major' drug interactiom with Seroqual and Lexapro.... Yikes. However Lexapro seems to be the final ingredient in my recipe of drugs ....
As well, i do smoke (1-4 day) trying to quit :/ and i do drink (2-3 once a weekish).

Am i playing with fire,, and does anyone else have this or a similar cocktail??

My former pdoc put me on Seroquel and lexapro and forgot to mention the serious risk. He was too busy getting me addicted to Xanax. I went online and discovered there was an interaction after I started having heart palpatations and high blood pressure.

As for drinking while on Seroquel, it will knock you on your *****. Like waking up in the floor wondering how you got there. And you may have hangovers from hell.

With all of the meds out there, I wonder why your pdoc wants you on a risky combination? Why did mine?

BTW, I'm on a low dose of Paxil now. It seems to work well for anxiety. It has a "moderate" not "serious" risk with Seroquel.

Thanks, I had brought up Lexipro with her b/c of a few others i know that did well on it for anxiety. I am on a very small dose of Seroquel (25mg) at night. I know about drinking on it, and had already some experiments with that... lets say i am aware lol.

She will not prex Xanax b/c of my history... and said most Pdoc dont when there is any kind of addiction history...

I took first dose of Lexi last night i was awake, like i couldn't sleep and then i didn't sleep well but no heart palps, just awake...had to take another Seroquel to fall asleep.. and wonder if i should take the Lexipro in the am. So i guess today i will take it earlier then yesterday, and tomorrow i'll take it in the morning. and compare how i feel.

Re: the interaction- that is scary!! But i read unless you have heart issues, it is a rare side effect however it could be life threatening... eek.

Is Paxil better then Lexipro for anxiety? Maybe i should just go on that instead.?

So, i just saw that Paxil has a moderate interaction w/ both Lamictal and Seroquel.
I cant win! Perhaps if my EKG turns out ok- then i will just stay on as low dose of Lexapro and Seroquel as possible.

And- i notice i woke up my pupils felt weird and indeed were dilated! weird! then i read that is due to brain being flooded w/ Serotonin... wonder if this will continue and is it a sign that I was deficient!?.

I had some luck with a combination of 300 mg of Seroquel and 60 mg of Paxil. But both of these do cause weight gain. I gained over 100 lbs on Paxil and Seroquel. I am fairly sure it was mostly the Seroquel though, and I was at a high dose.

I was also on Seroquel and Lexapro for a short period of time. No adverse affects but it didn't help much.

If your pdoc is following up with an EKG, I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm on 20 mg of Paxil. Since I'm bipolar, I doubt I'll ever go higher than that.

I used to take Lexapro in the morning. But it didn't do anything at all. Whatever is wrong with me, Lexapro can't touch.

Seroquel and I didn't get along. It's sort of sad because it seems to be great for so many. I had all kinds of side effects, the weird heart palps, high blood pressure, and weight gain.

thanks all. I have my Dr appt today-
I have been feeling overall pretty good, I was really tired at first on Lexapro and then, lately I have been doing more things (job interviews) better and more confidently then I normally would. In fact i have 2 job offers! Something must be working..
Anyhow, I have still been dealing w/ Anxiety, feeling stressed but that might be b/c i am in a extremely stressful time of my life w/ career mostly and family things.

So far so good overall! (no heart issues either, just the normal rash i get on my chest after too much caffeine or anxiety, which goes away typically w/in 10-20 min- have always had that though and will bring up w/ Dr today)

I was on Lexapro, Seroquel, and Lamictal for about 6 months, then on Lexapro and Seroquel for a few years. Not one doctor ever said a word to me about any dangers. All they seem to focus on is the fact that I've been on Klonopin for 20 years. The anti-benzo thing is the Obsession of The Decade for pdocs, never mind any other dangers from other meds. (Sorry, I'm a bit bitter.)
Thanks for this!
