I take Paliperidone (Invega). It causes all kinds of problems so I also have taken Procyclidine for Extrapyramidal side effects such as parkinsonism. Has anyone else had the experience whilst on Procyclidine or similar tablets (Orphenadrine, Benzhexol), that the tablet is still working on the side effects but is no longer giving a 'buzz' or lifting mood?
I am to see a doctor soon and need to know if it's worth asking for a different tablet for the side effects or whether I should just stick with what I've got. I was taking no more than 1 and a half 5mg procyclidine tablets a day (I've been on it a year and a half) but recently have been taking the full 3 tablets that I have been subscribed. Does the 'buzz' disappearing mean that the medication will eventually stop working altogether, or have I got time to worry about it later? ie. is this separate from the actual benefits of Procyclidine? |

I am not familiar with these medications and am sorry I cannot answer your questions specifically. I do know if you have side effects, by all means, talk to your doctor about them. It could mean something as simple as a change in dose, there may be something that can help, or it may mean you need to change medications. Your physician is there to help, just let him or her know. That is what they are there for.
I hope you find some answers soon. Take good care and hang in there. ![]()
