Hi, I am not familiar with anti psychotics . Had a low dose of seroquel for a short while as sleeping aid. Since a couple of days I am on risperidone 1mg at night. Pdoc prescribed it because I still suffer from chronic stress, hyperacusis, hyperarousal and derealization.
But it makes me extremely groggy and sleepy, just as we lowered mirtazapine from 45 to 15 which finally made me get up after 9 hours sleep instead of 11-12. Now it feels like a step back and the derealization is even worse because if the groggyness. Will this side effect lessen over time? And how long does it take before it starts to work?

Dx: Mix anhedonia with Bipolar II. Add some insomnia and chronic stress. Season with paroxetine and a pinch of ADD. Stir well to induce a couple of hypo/manic episodes. After the excess of energy is gone, remove the Paroxetine and serve chilled with some C-PTSD and GAD. Ready is your MDD. Mx: To clean up the mess use lamotrigine, risperidon, mirtazapine and sertraline. Let it soak in for a while but keep a close eye on it. Meanwhile enjoy your desert of oxazepam/temazepam prn. |

Quote:
Fatigue is a common side effect of risperidone, and it most likely will decrease over the next few weeks. Risperidone usually takes 4-6 weeks to reach therapeutic levels in brain pathways. I hope you feel better soon. |
