I saw my pdoc this morning and I told her about really disliking Latuda at a higher dose, so she went back through my entire history and we talked and decided for me to go back on Zyprexa Zydis since historically it has the best track record with me. I'm going to taper off the Latuda while starting up the Zyprexa.

She also lowered my wellbutrin back to 300mg (not really sure why, but I'll roll with it) and upped my buspar.

I'm seeing her in 4 weeks, and at that point, she wants to add in an anticonvulsant mood stabilizer. She mentioned lamictal at my last appointment, and today was talking about tegretol and trileptal. She mentioned that with the last 2 the side effects are similar to those of depakote which makes me scared because depakote gave me a horrible tremor! I'll probably get her to try me on lamictal again even though the first time I gave up on it because it gave me a rash (not THE rash, just a rash) because the side effect profile is much lower.

I was really hoping we'd reduce the number of meds I'm on, not increase...but it doesn't look like that's happening unless by some miracle I stop needing seroquel to sleep. Oh well.

Hi SDRL, I hope the new med situation works well for you. I know how you feel about wanting to be on less meds, but I think it's a good thing your pdoc supports your need for meds. I can't stand pdocs/psychnurses who "don't believe" in the validity of psych meds.

I hope so too! I can't start the Zyprexa until tomorrow because the pharmacy had to order it since it's not the regular stuff, but that's okay.

I love my pdoc as she really does have my best interest in mind and she listens to me about what I like/dislike and what I'm willing to try when etc. That's why I'm going off Latuda! Unfortunately, 40mg wasn't enough for me, and the side effects above that were not okay with me. I bet anything I sleep better tonight taking just 20mg.

I'm glad your pdoc is excellent. Been a long, long time since I had a really good pdoc. How was your sleep?

I slept so much better! Even though I didn't have the Zypreza. Granted, because of that I took an extra Seroquel (my pdoc says 100-300mg as needed, and I usually do 200mg). I can't say it wasn't interrupted, but I had to get up to use the bathroom quite early this morning. But tonight I've got the Zyprexa. It came in to the pharmacy this morning and was just being prepared when I got there so I had to wait a few minutes, but that' no big deal. 5mg starting tonight for a week, and then 10mg.

I can't wait for 8:30/9:00...I'm already ready for bed, but it's too early right now. Glad I don't have anything until tomorrow afternoon, just in case I'm extra tired in the morning. And even what I have only requires me showing up -- not really thinking lol. It's an eye exam.
