Experiences? Did it make you sleepy?
I was just started on this so I'm only on .25mg It's meant to help me sleep so I take it in pm. Yes it's for anxiety to but sleeping seemed to be the main reason my psychiatrist put me on it ._.

Yes, it was helpful for sleep. I think I was taking the lowest dosage (is that the .25 mg you mention?) and it had a decent effect. I hope it works well for you.

This medication comes under the benzodiazapine family. This medication is very effective when used in the correct way. Hopefully you will only need to use it in the short term. Best of luck with it.

Loved it! But I was only allowed a prescription for one month since benzo's can be addictive.

My son with Asperger's took it for a few weeks but it was way too sedating.

I was on 1mg 2x a day as needed. On days I had bad anxiety I would normally only have to take one. For sleep it is great. Me personally, it kept me at a level of "sedated" but "funtioning". So if I needed to sleep, I could. If I needed to work, I could as well. There is a lot of negative literature about it, but as with any benzo (or pretty much perscription drug if we are realistic), you can get a tolerance as well as your body become dependant.
Good luck! Hope it works.

I've been taking klonopin for a few years now, and I love it. I take 1mg at night and 0.5-1mg PRN. Unlike other benzos, I don't find it particularly sedating, but it does help me sleep. I want to eventually get off it for sleep, but I have to get stable on other stuff before I can.

I was on 5mgs and had to quit cold turkey due to my liver enzymes going up. Worked great for me though. I wish I could go back on it. When I came off it I was in the hospital and they made the decision to stop it cold. I was very sick with withdrawals. I hope it works for you at the lower dose.

I've been taking 20 mg twice a day for about a year. I know that is a high dose but I worked up to it. I've been taking it for about 6 years. My doc took me off as he saw no more anxiety but once I went to the ER for something completely unrelated, I had this monster panic attack and they had to treat my anxiety before tending to my physical ailment which turned out to be an ulcer. The ER doc put on my follow-up paperwork that I was extremely anxious and needed to be medicated, so I was put back on last Spring. It isn't sedating for me at all. Well, if I take 2 it is but I don't do that. Once I did that and I ran out early and you cannot refill those until time is up. I take Seroquel at night for psychosis and sleep. It really works for both.

Why did it take that long? I suppose that it is not because of the physical withdrawal.
