I'm on 10mg of Lexapro for health anxiety and it's been great for keeping it under control but lately I've started experiencing general anxiety which is causing me a lot of distress.
Do you think if I upped my dose this would help? |

How long have you been on Lexapro for?
When I first started Lexapro, it made my anxiety fluctuate. Sometimes my anxiety would be nonexistent; other times, my anxiety would be sky high. It took a while for my body to adjust to the medication (like a few weeks). That's why I ask. Upping your dose may help, but if you're still adapting to Lexapro, you may need to give it more time. |

Yeah, then it sounds like upping your dose may be worthwhile. It's possible you've built up a tolerance to it.
The other thing is, sometimes antidepressants stop working after a while. Basically, they work great for a few months or a few years, then they just randomly stop working one day. I don't think it's common for that to happen, but it can/does happen for some people. So, that's something to consider. The medical name for it is "Tachyphylaxis". |

20mg is also a standard dose, so I don't think upping it would be a bad idea. Lexapro didn't work for me but it's different for everyone.
