I just started the Emsam 6mg patch today. The doctors are hoping it will work for me since nothing else has. Does anyone have any experience with it? I am not thrilled with the diet I have to follow.

I was tried on Ensam some years ago. Unfortunately, it caused my blood pressure to tank to the point that I kept passing out so we had to discontinue before I had a chance to see if it could have worked. I hope you have better luck. The diet restrictions on Ensam are not as severe as they are for other MOAI's, but it still is an adjustment.

There are no dietary restrictions on the 6mg patch, Crook32. The 9mg and 12mg have restrictions.

I started taking it in September, I felt a lot better a month later. Be careful to not take more than you need. I went up to 12mg in November (with my permission, my psychiatrist isn't one of those doctors who thinks you don't have a say) and had HORRIBLE insomnia for 2 months, it was so activating. Unfortunately the insomnia made me depressed all over again, I changed the dose back down to 9mg and it took another month for my sleep to get somewhat back to normal.
I haven't been doing well mood-wise since the insomnia but I don't have any other options. I like not having to take an oral med (they all upset my stomach or appetite), I got denied again by my insurance for TMS, and I don't like the stories I read about ECT.

Using it for depression. So far haven't noticed anything good from it. Doctor said it could take a few weeks. I was having some suicidal thoughts again though.

It looks like you've been taking it for less than a week. It took a good month or more for me to start feeling differently.
