Topic of discussion over here right now also:
http://forums.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=439346

It was good for me, to help with severe depression. It did that mainly by decreasing the level of anxiety I have, I think, so if that isn't a problem for you it might not work as well. I didn't realize how big a problem anxiety was for me until I'd been on it for six weeks and thought "gee something's different."

It's possible that what I've labeled anxiety was really something else like paranoid thinking and racing thoughts. I don't care, they're both practically gone now.

I took aripiprazole (a lot of people on PC call it by it's brand name, Abilify) for unipolar psychotic suicidal depression. It didn't do anything for me - no effects, no side effects. I was on 10 mg.

I just started taking Abilify. I don't know yet if it will be a good med or not.

Worked great for my depression, but once I was no longer depressed, it made me very agitated. I take it as an add on to my other meds when I start to get depressed and as soon as the depression is under control, I stop taking it.

I took 10mg for about nine months and it was bad for me. It made me twitch and I was more paranoid than usual...more jumpy really. I noticed a difference when I stopped.

I should note that it was used to "boost" my antidepressant (Welbutrin then). It didn't.

Everybody is different. I know lots of people who are happy with it.

It helped me not suicide. So that was good. Now that I am off I see that it was numbing for both good and bad feelings. I was taking it to boost my ADs
