I'm currently on 8 meds and I was curious as to how many meds other people are on?

That does seem like a lot a meds, particularly since some of them are redundant. Adderall AND vyvanse? Do you have ADHD? Two benzos -- xanax AND klonopin. Why two? Seroquel alone generally takes care of sleep issues, but you are also taking ambien. Another reason why perhaps finally seeing a different pdoc is a good idea. I suspect most would question the multiple meds that treat the same thing. I think it would be hard for a doctor to know what meds are really helping and where you might simply be overmedicated.
Thanks for this!

I'm on two, Abilify and Lamictal, but at one time in my life, many years ago, I was on 8, too, though I can't remember their names.

My opinion is that some doctors tend to overmedicate (I don't know whether this is your case, it's just my experience), especially when they don't know what to do. My current pdoc was very clear from the beginning that he wanted me to be on as few meds as possible.

Only 3...amitriptyline (anti-depressant), sulpiride (atypical antipsychotic), lorazepam (benzodiazepine). Used to be on an anti-histamine for the appetite-boost.

Just occasional supplements (natural), valeriana for sleep, but nothing regular.

Currently none stopped taking them a couple of weeks ago maybe...med compliance isn't my strong point. Waiting to get started on lithium though so it's only a short break. Think the most I've been on at one time is 3 or 4..can't really remember though. Been on so many in different combinations it's all a blur now.

The Adderall is for when Vyvanse wears off. Xanax is for panic attacks. The Klonopin is for generalized anxiety. And I'm prescribed Seroquel in the daytime so I need Ambien to sleep. It took forever to find a combination that worked and covered all symptoms.

I'm on 6 - seems like a lot, but it took a while to find the right combo, and I'm doing really well on them, so I don't want to mess with them.

I'm on 6 psych meds. It's the most I've ever been on, but I also feel the most stable I have in the 5 years since my diagnosis.

This was my previous pdoc's philosophy as well. But then he gave up on me in which I eventually ended up in PHP and now look what I'm on..

Six psych meds, possibly to become 7 if Abilify is helpful. I'm on Zoloft, Latuda, Klonopin, Vistiril, Seroquel (low dose for sleep), Cogentin (for tremor).

I'm not thrilled to be on so many meds BUT I have had a hell of the past few years and now I finally feel pretty stable...I can feel joy sometimes, which is amazing because I never thought I would feel joy again.

Cymbalta, Abilify, Trileptal.

I'm also on Ambien for a sleep disorder but my pdoc doesn't prescribe that one. And three other meds for other medical conditions.

ETA : Make that five other meds. Plus three supplements and one OTC.
