Does anyone take Effexor and it make them tired? I'm on 225mg of extended release Effexor, I'm supposed to take it in the morning, but I just now noticed (after months of taking it) that a side effect is that it makes you sleepy. I"m wondering if I should take it in the evenings with my other meds that make me sleepy too.

I just changed from 225mg Immediate Release to 225mg Extended Release and while I was getting too little sleep daily, for the past week or so I'm sleeping 18-20 hours. I've tried calling the pdoc who switch me but no answer.

She asked me, before prescribing, how I took the 3 75mg tablets and I told her breakfast, lunch and dinner; she just grunted (she doesn't seem a very happy person) so that's how I've been taking the capsules. I fear that if I took all 225mg at any one time, I would pass out!

If your doc is one to take calls, I would call and ask for his/her advice. I'm just surprised at how sleeping the ER makes me after being on the IR for so long.

Good luck,
