ive started taking zoloft 25mg every day for anxiety/depression. im on week 1.

i'm also diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder and marijuana is the only thing that relieves most of my symptoms so i smoke it daily.

i've continued to smoke despite starting zoloft. its helped a little with the side effects of zoloft, however id like to know if marijuana stops zoloft from working properly?

or am i ok to keep smoking while taking zoloft?

all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. lol

The correct answer is to talk to your doc.

My OPINION is that it shouldn't. If you're smoking and taking the Zoloft and smoking doesn't depress you then there shouldn't be an issue. I have just enough background in pharmacology to be dangerous. I would say that it would help the zoloft work.

I know many people that take other antidepressants and smoke that are successful. Everyone's different though so your mileage may vary.

A simple web search reveals that there is a possible drug-drug interaction between Zoloft and marijuana. I would ask a friendly pharmacist or your doctor about it, especially if you’re elderly or debilitated.
In my experience I’ve seen people use these two drugs without complications. Be aware however that everyone responds to drugs differently.

Marijuana increases heart rate by 50-100% in most people I hear.

It gives me bad anxiety so I stopped smoking it.

The two conflict each other. Sorry but it does make zoloft stop working properly.
