Imipramine might be the first one I ever tried. If I remember right, the side effect I had was that I got dizzy if I stood up fast - it can lower blood pressure, and mine already was low. Of course it's no problem, even helpful, if your blood pressure is normal or high.

Hi to all
We all get good/bad reactions it's just finding one that suits best. I have tried imipramine, swollen neck nodes and severe constipation. Not the sedation as with Amitriptyline so that is why Imipramine is a preferred choice. Wellbutrin works a little differently, it is the least likely to cause appetite or weight increase, that's an issue with many people.

Imipramine was one of the first ones I was ever on. Knocked me out. Didn't like it at all.

I've taken Lofepramine (Gamanil) which is related, for many years, on and off. It's one of the few drugs I don't have any major side effects with and it helps me sleep without knocking me out during the day. I do think that I've noticed that the effect lessens after a while. I've found it works better after stopping for a while. (gradually of course).
I have terrible problems with SSRI's and Mirtazapine. Strangely enough many people comment on weight gain yet I seem to control my weight better whilst taking it. It doesn;t affect my sex drive like SSRI's either ! Don't know if you are male or female ? it messed up my cycle, but that's the only problem I had.
