I'm currently taking the following medications for bipolar disorder:
Wellbutrin 150mg once a day
Paxil 30mg once a day
Serequel 25mg 3 times a day
Serequel 300mg once before bedtime
Trileptal 150mg once during the morning and once at night

Ever since my pdoc perscribed trileptal I been having horrible acne outbursts all around my back, stomach and arms. I use skin moisturizer but that doesnt seem to help. My next appointment with my pdoc is next month. I don't like the side effects from the trileptal. Trileptol seems to help a little bit on reducing my mood swings sometimes. though I still get mixed episodes quite often and depressed/manic moods. any suggestions that I should do to slow down the acne outbursts from any type of skin moisturizers? tomorrow I have an appointment with my therapist and my pdoc goes to the same building as my therapist, hopefully I can schedule an appointment with my pdoc sooner for a med change. Horrible Side effects from my medications

Are you positive it is acne and not a rash? Getting a rash right after starting a new med can indicate an allergy and signal you should stop the med right away.. Please be careful. If your pdoc can't see you soon, can you go see your regular doctor for help with the acne? He/she could also diagnose if it might be a rash if you are uncertain.

For acne, I think you want a lotion that is drying, not moisturizing. You can also ask the pharmacist for advice on over the counter remedies.

If it is truly an allergic reaction, try some Benadryl and if it goes away you will know, but if it does not go away then please see your doctor.

... have you read the side effects of your Rx?

A known side effect of Trileptal is acne. IMHO, it's your call whether to continue taking a medication that's causing this much distress, if you can't get in to see a doctor quickly.

Finally a Trileptal person!!! I too, had problems with acne on Trileptal. At one point I got a very bad breakout on my upper chest, just under my neck... I thought it was a rash at first, but my pdoc didn't think so. It eventually went away, but I continued having problems with it on my back. I actually just went off the Trileptal after a year of taking it. I have been off of it for almost 2 weeks now. I am still having problems with my back, but that might be attributed more to the heat and me having long hair and wearing it down all the time... but as far as my face, I have had almost no acne at all since I stopped taking it.
