Has anyone else been prescribed Metformin?

Yes, it is actually a diabetes drug. But, I am taking it 'off label' as a weight management tool. Apparently, some studies are showing that it may also help curb the likelihod of the onset of diabetes linked to significant amounts of Seroquel (Quetiapine).

Does anyone else take Metformin for such a reason? What are your experiences?

In the first 6 months I lost a good amount of weight. But then I was prescribed Citalopram for my obsessing. Boom, it all came back. Since discontinuing this Citalopram my weight has stabilized. I've actually begun to lose a little again.

Your experiences?

(DocJohn by the way says I should be posting all things related to psychiatry including experiences with doctors in this forum and not Psychotherapy)
