Google it with the term 'side-effects' and see what you find.

I don't know anything about it, but I can tell you that most ADs and psych meds have both depression and anxiety as a side-effect. People don't believe that, but it's a well established fact so if you feel worse after starting it, instead of blaming yourself, blame the med.

I should mention that I was on psych meds for 13+ years until the side-effects got so bad I just couldn't take it any longer. Now I use amino acids, the mineral lithium orotate and other supplements to control my bipolar 2, and am doing extremely well.

I have been taking Wellbutrin for at least 10 years. I have taken at least 8 other antidepressants and Wellbutrin has been the best for me. It helps with my depression without causing hypomania/mania. I find it easy to tolerate and it seems weight neutral. I am satisfied with it.

I love it! I've been on it for about a year now, at the same dose (which is amazing for me!) and it works really well. The only thing is that it did increase my anxiety at the beginning, but that was well worth it because of how fast it lifted my depression (days, not even a week -- days is when it began to start working).
Thanks for this!

I used to take it. It helped with my depression but it increased my anxiety.
Thanks for this!

Because I believe people need to know about the side-effects of these meds. Don't you want to know the side-effects of the meds you're taking? I wish I had been told this when I was on meds. It would have saved me untold grief and a receding hairline.

"I don't know anything about it"

I don't need to say anything else. I am rather tired of crusaders and people who give advice against medication in the medication section of the forum. It doesn't belong here.

Especially if you have never taken it...

If you have had luck with other treatments, then post in the "other treatment" section...

It helped my depression quickly. I had raging libido as a side effect, it became so bad I went of the wellbutrin. It sounds like fun until it happens to you.... :-)

It helped me with tiredness and motivation but not with depression. It didn't cause me any kind of sinde effect at 300mg.

I think it's common knowledge that all medications have side effects

Some people don't get any side effect of it, while others get anxiety and insomnia, if you are in the first group like me, I guess you won't have any problem, specially if it's the day 4 and you haven't had any.

I love it! I've been on it for a little over a year and it gave me that little boost of energy I needed to stop laying on the couch all day every day.
Thanks for this!

I've been on it for a few years. Started with 300 mg and it did pretty well but seemed to increase my anxiety. Dropped down to 150 mg and fell into a very deep depression. Went back up to 300 and it pulled me back but didn't seem to be as good. Went up to 450 mg and I'm doing pretty good now. Never did get the energy boost that people talk about.

Its been about 8 days now and it definitely has given me a boost of energy, I was sleeping all day, like up to 16 hours a day. Yesterday I did so much throughout the day (cleaning, college, library, stuff like that)

I'm finishing week 6. I started at 100 SR, then to 200 SR, and had HORRIBLE headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, excess sweating, stomach aches... That was the generic, though. Did some reading, found generic wasn't generally a great idea with this med, and switched to 300 XR real stuff. Motivation up, energy up, physical side effects gone except occasional blurred vision, but I'm jittery (never had that problem before), angry almost all the time, and randomly weepy. Also mildly annoyed that even one alcoholic drink could cause seizures. Already tried Prozac (great, but effectiveness faded and I gained 20+ pounds), Lexapro (made me confrontational and suicidal), Zoloft (no effect) and Cymbalta (made me ill). Now not sure what to do or ask for at next appointment.

I've noticed a difference between the XL and SR forms. I can't say anything between genetic and brand name, though. When I started at 150XL, I was irritable and couldn't sleep. When I switched to 200 SR, I felt so much better.
