I tried searching for info on this site about valium. I was wondering if anyone could refer me to a place where I could find out what for example the half life is of it and educate myself on it other than what I can find on this site. I've also tried search engines but have found a lot of junk. Reason being I was prescribed it yesterday... Does it build up in ur system; like is it true that over time it builds up and may work better as you use it a few days or whatever? Just checking some things out and verifying what Crisis told me and what not. Thanks, Danielle

Wikipedia is where I turn to for these things. I've never taken it myself, but I just did a quick search for you. Good luck.

I was on Valium for years & years.....after the busbar didn't have any effect, they tried valium. When I was first on it, I was having a root canal done, so took a few, few more that prescribed.....it relaxed me but that was about it......then I took way to many several times when I was dealing with suicidal issues. Valium had such little effect on me that I even talked my way out of the OD at the ER.

Towards the end of my use of it, I was on quite a high dose & decided to just quit taking it. So many people told me I should have gone through some kind of withdrawal, but never noticed anything with that either. For me, it was like taking a plecebo.....don't know why, but it had no effect on my system. I tried is again after being off it for awhile when I was going through the trauma with my Mothers death...& again, it had absolutely no effect & was no help with my stress level.

However, everyone has a different reaction to each med. The only thing I was thankful about it was that I didn't have any horrible side effect like with other meds.

Hope you find it useful for your needs, but one never knows until they try.
Debbie
