I was prescribed Lexapro then Paxil(and eventually overdosed on paxil and diagnosed as 'severely depressed').
About a month after this, the study in canada showed that paxil could cause suicide/depression in teens.. Is it possible that being on paxil/lexpro as a teen was the precursor to where I am at now? Or just that it is just a coincidence that when I was put on paxil is when I became more depressed(or aware of it)? |

It is possible that the paxil could have made your depression worsen. That's what the black box warnings are saying. It shouldn't have any longterm effects though once you're off the medication.
I was on paxil and several other anti-depressants as a teen and none of them made me suicidal but it sounds like it does happen occasionally. |
