Hi
Im just wondering does anyone have any experience of what seems to be happening at the moment with me. Im nearly 5 weeks into taking Escitalopram (Cipralex/Lexapro) - the first 3 weeks on 5mg and since then upped to 7.5mg. During the last 3 days my anxiety has skyrocketed and Im wondering is this par for the course as I know increased anxiety can be common when starting an SSRI but 5 weeks in Im not so sure
Any help advice would really be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have been on 10 mg of Lexapro and have not experienced any anxiety - I started taking it because I was angry all the time and the doc said it would help and it has - tremendously. Maybe just the increase in your dosage was enough to trigger the anxiety response in you. If it was me, I would check with my doc - I hate being anxious.

Maybe you could try the increase but if it did not work soon if it was me I would be back on the phone to the doc and let him know - sometimes I do not think they really understand what their patients are going through. Probably just like most medicines not everything works the same way for everyone else. Good luck.

hi, i was on 5mg and went up to 10mg. usually i suffer with anxiety but these seem to suit me, not nearly as bad as i was. they must affect people in different ways, my depression is better since i've been on them but my life has turned around too, so it's hard to say whether it's the tabletsor a change in my daily happeningsand the fact i have now found a really good pdoc. hope you feel better soon.
