The doc I see for fibromyalgia prescribed 25 mg of Topamax to help with pain a couple months ago... since then, especially over the last few weeks, I have been having, on average, 3 panic attacks a day... I don't know if it is related... I am seeing that doc a little later today... just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

So, I asked that doc about it... he said that it wasn't actually the Topamax causing the anxiety. Rather, it was the Topamax leaving my system before I took the next dose, that was causing the increased anxiety.
He put me on a newer version, Trokendi, that is also XR, at a higher dose (since it was helping the pain). He gave me samples for two weeks, and said after a week, if it was better, let the pharmacy know to get the approval for the insurance, so that I will have it before I run out of samples. Seems to be working so far. Still some anxiety and panic attacks but not nearly as bad or as many.

I have been on topomax for 7 years on and off. I don't know why they prescribe to me. Every psiquiatrist tell me something different. For impulse and they are supposed to decrease appetite because the other medication give so much appetite.
My side effects are, tired, rainy eyes, forget thinkable. I keep taking it for costume but really I have no idea if they work. Any ideas? |
