I've been experiencing psychotic symptoms for quite some time but with little disruptions in my life as a whole. Unfortunately, recently it's gotten quite a lot more extreme. One question though before I wanna bring it up with doctors: are there any antipsychotics that DON'T cause weight gain? I've had quite a lot of trouble with body image over the years and honestly gaining weight would cause a lot more problems than the psychosis at this point.

There's no real answer to this, everyone experiences the meds differently. I'm on invega sustenna and seroquel and don't have a problem with weight gain, didn't on zyprexa, risperdal, or abilify either

Like Blue Bird posted, everyone reacts differently to medications. For me, Seroquel cause weight gain, but Latuda did not.

I didn't gain weight from Latuda, and I'm currently on Abilify (also with no weight gain). I've only used Seroquel on an as needed basis, so I've never gained weight from it. (However, it does make me crave sweets, which means I have to exercise self control.)

But really, it all depends on the person, as others here have said. Some people's metabolisms slow down on a certain AP, but they're able to adjust their diet accordingly to prevent weight gain. Not everyone can do that, though.

I think Zyprexa is a big weight gainer, though. I've seen lots of people complain about it.

Clozapine is said to be even more of a weight gainer than Zyprexa, and I actually lost weight since I started on clozapine. (I did gain weight on Zyprexa, but I started fairly underweight)

I've gained weight on everything except Geodon ( and I was yanked off of that because it gave me heart problems).

I would try cbd oil before i try an anti psychotic. Its supposed to have some anti psychotic elements to it, and is much safer.

I am currently tapering off risperidone, because i was misdiagnosed.

molindone, an older one, sometimes causes a minor weight loss, in big studies (clearly, your results may well be different). It causes other side effects, though. If you do take an antipsychotic, I'd consider antioxidants and b-vitamins with the drug(s). I've been doing that, and I tolerate my antipsychotic/tranquilizer (Abilify) better now than I did before.

The weight neutral ones are geodon abilify and latuda and of the older generation haldol but as above they can all cause weight gain depending on the person so your mileage may vary....

I've been on Saphris for 6 years with no weight gain. Tastes yucky though.

Weight neutral AP's I've been on: Seroquel and Abilify (although everyone seems to be different)
