Asking for a friend. In general, on the lowest dosage, which med did you find the least sedating? (mirtazapine, quetiapine, olanzapine)

Any other meds that might be less sedating and still increase appetite?

It varies from person to person- the side effects of psych meds are just like that.
Olanzapine (Zyprexa) did not make Miguel'smom (the comment above) drowsy, but it did make me drowsy. Another example- Risperdal made my appetite increase/caused me to gain weight, but many people using Risperdal do not experience this.

Just need whats most common. Her doc will not allow more than one more med trial. She already had remeron. Her problem is she cant eat because of anxiety and depression and is fading away...

It says one of the most common side effects is like restlessness/anxiety. That wouldn't work, her anxiety is already through the roof.

When I was on seroquel, I found that the sedating effects only lasted a few weeks, but the appetite increase stuck around (made me crave carbs, too - VERY bad for me). But according to my current bottles, I shouldn't be standing up at the doses/things I'm on...

A few weeks? I don't think I could live with the sedation I got it for a few weeks. I'd probably die.
Seems like my friend is as sensitive as me or actually even worse.

Ah... where I am clearly not. I remember hospital staff discovering b52s don't work right on me... but that might be because the benadryl doesn't...
