Hello.

I started Wellbutrin at 300mg, then upped it to 450 but insurance changed and can no longer afford the 450. I like Wellbutrin but no dose has helped enough with anxiety, so doc and I discussed options. One option is adding Zoloft or Paxil or Prozac or Cymbalta or Buspar. I've never taken a mix.

I'm not crazy about Prozac (was on it years, seemed to stop being helpful, although the primary reason I discontinued it was that it started causing me to have horrible stomach pain within a minute or minutes after taking it).

I'm also not very open to Paxil because when I took it alone, many years ago, I was lethargic and unmotivated - from the med or the med just didn't help, I can't be sure, but my memory is that it was from the med.

Have you used or do you use a combination Wellbutrin (+ any of the above) that worked/works for you [I know, we are all different, but still asking ] and whether you have had good or not so good experiences, would you be willing to share here?

I'm leaning toward adding Zoloft, just from researching it. Additionally, I take 300mg Gabapentin at night for sleep and Xanax PRN (rarely - a last resort).

Thank you for reading this far, and for any comments and shared experiences!

hi. I take 400mgs Wellbutrin in SR form (2x daily). good stuff, that wellbutrin.

I've read good things about adding Remeron. Its --not-- an SSRI or an SNRI, so you avoid the emotional novocaine effect, to some extent. Lower doses can be intensely sedating and cause weight gain, but as the dose goes up, the sedation+weight gain often become less of an issue.
Thanks for this!
