My doctor just added trileptal for my cycling as of Monday.
So far I've had nausea, bad flatulence, and flu like symptoms
Will all this go away... I can tell I feel more stable but I feel sick

Out of curiosity, did the flu-like symptoms include chills? And just some achiness? Because I think I've been having that side effect from Trileptal. It seemed a bit constipating the first week or so, too. Have you had any psychological side effects? I think it might be making me more depressed...

I had some achiness. Still a bit constipated but getting better. I did notice depression which led to more negative thoughts however I didn't take as much trazodone
since I had the trileptal
Now that I'm taking the dose of trazodone I was taking it's a bit better
with the depression
It's weird the depression would still hit me cause I take 80mg of Prozac?
The medication balance is such a crazy thing

Hi, I'm on 900 mg Trileptal. I have not noticed any particular side effects from it. I also don't notice that it does much...maybe takes the edge off my anxiety...Maybe?

My p-doc said because we're using it as a mood stabilizer, it would probably take some time to tell if it's helping or not. Because it's not as simple as "did it help my depression." It's more like, "Have I been able to cope better over the past few months in general?" and/or had fewer or less severe episodes of depression or what I think is hypomania. Might contact her today, just because I'm concerned about the possible depression side effects. (I can deal with some sleepiness, less so with increased depression.)

I took lexapro for a short amount of time in Decenber 2015.., nausea was the main side effect I had (the other was severely dialated pupils). I didn't stay on it long enough to find out if the nausea went away or not
