I took perphenazine for a while. I don't remember any side effects except maybe needing more sleep. It was a good drug for me.

there's a combo pill...triavil. its part perphenazine, part the old school antidepressant Elavil. They're both very sedating medications, but the combination is supposed to be very effective for some forms of severe anxiety, depression with agitation, etc. Its generic, so I would assume it'd be cheap(ish). Has your doctor ever talked about that option?

The other option would be a different medication altogether. Not everyone responds well to antipsychotics/neuroleptics/major tranquilizers. Some people do, but it takes time to find one that works well in their situation.

Maybe very low dose Stelazine? I think its supposed to be less sedating.
