I'm inquiring if anyone here takes Wellbutrin? I have been told and read somewhere it will help with weight loss. I am looking for a antidepressants that won't cause weight gain and that may cause weight loss. Please advise.

hi. wellbutrin usually doesn't cause weight gain. Some people do lose a little bit of weight, especially at higher doses (I think the maximum dose is 450mgs/day).

Hey. I'm on it. Was the only AD that seems to work for me.
It is known to not cause weight gain, But i didn't lose anything either.
More weight-neutral.
I would recommend it for treating depression but don't count on losing any weight.
If u are a smoker tho it might help u quit? (It is same drug as zyban)
And if u get bad anxiety I have read they don't recommend it.
Good luck.

Hi, bipolar... Wellbutrin is my antidepressant of choice. I can't say that I've lost weight on it, but it's not the cause of my being overweight, like some antidepressants are.

P.S. If you're concerned about weight gain, don't ever take Remeron!
