Is there a antidepressant out that helps with weight loss? I am on latuda, Paxil, and depakote and I had weight loss surgery but these meds don't seem to allow me to lose more weight. I heard Wellbutrin might cause weight loss but I don't know how true that is? Please advise!!!

Wellbutrin is known to be one of few antidepressants that cause weight loss, as opposed to weight gain, or being 'weight neutral'.
It speeds up metabolism and provides energy- a possible side effect may be some anxiety, which isn't present in all cases. Another option is a weight-neutral SNRI and Viibryd- apparently taking Viibryd tends to make people lose weight. NOTE: this may be due to to possible laxative side effect, which makes it a bit less of a favorable choice.

I have not found a psych med (I've been on many) that helps with weight loss. Latuda seems to be the most weight-neutral med I've been on. Wellbutrin didn't do anything for me as far as either depression or weight loss - but it does help a lot of people.
