which one should i ask my pdoc about he suggest trazodone but i was wored about trazodone

I take amitriptyline. It dramatically shortens the time it takes me to fall asleep. Doctors dislike this drug - too many side effects. But I think it's more effective than anything else I tried . . . and I tried nearly everything.

The thing to know is that you may need to take it 2 to 4 hours before bedtime. I take 50 mg each evening. It changed my life.

Trazadone always worked great for me. I would start out at 50mg though. On 100, if I got up in the middle of the night, it was like I was drunk.
